This is a question I have constantly asked myself-not because I’m a raging alcoholic, but because I’ve been a bartender for over 17 years, and during this time I’ve seen a lot of waste. Not every place recycles or has the means to do so. I have first-hand witnessed hundreds of glass liquor bottles go straight in the trash and have always wondered if there was a way to re-purpose them. I wanted to give them a new life but didn’t know how. What can you do with an empty liquor bottle? Turns out, not a whole lot. But after having an allergy attack and consuming a bottle of Benadryl, my creative energy started to flow. Suddenly, I became enLIGHTened. Everything was starting to make SCENTS! I was going to take empty liquor bottles and turn them into sustainable candles.

And thus, the Drunkin Candle Shop was born. Let’s Get Lit!!

Our World + Philosophy 

My passion is to share with the world, a sustainable candle that engages the 5 senses:

1. SMELL: Let’s start with the most obvious. From delicious Chocolate Truffle to soothing Lavender Vanilla, Drunkin Candles provides a sense of comfort and warmth in any home. It’s a clean long burning natural candle, free of toxins and paraffin wax. Safe for you, your loved ones, and the environment.

2. SEE: Take a look for yourself! Since each candle is up-cycled from empty liquor bottles, it creates a unique visual interest suitable for any area of your home. And what a conversation starter!

3. HEAR: Do you hear that? It’s the sound of you supporting a female-owned small business while caring for the environment at the same time. APPLAUSE.

4. TOUCH: I’ve used my bare hands to cut glass, pour wax and trim wicks for these handcrafted, small-batch candles. There is a lot of love in each one.

5. TASTE: Listen, I’m not here to make decisions for you. Chances are, you’ve ingested much worse in your life. And technically, these are 100% natural, so. You. Do. You. I would just avoid the glass. Bon Appétit!
